Is it just me or do others have the same thought as they hear the word "Empire" that they think on the "Roman Empire"? Well that was my first thought. So I only had to decide what figures I would paint for this theme. As I'm allready painting a bunch of 1/72 scale figures I decided to paint some nice Roman Velites and one Hastati (I had 4 more but not finished, so these will appear later in the challenge) in scale 1/32.
In the 1/32 scale Hat boxes (this is set 9118) you have 16 figures in 4 poses. Nice figure with almost no moldmarks and good details. It was fun to paint the animal furr on the helmets from the Velites, wich are three different ones. A bear, a wolf and I think a wild cat. The Hastati has some plumes on his helmet so that isn't so impressive. But have a look for yourself, so here are the pictures. Enjoy!
