'BFG' from JeremyM: Star Wars AT-ST

Hi everyone,

For this challenge I decided to tackle General Weiss and his experimental AT-ST.  This guns on this one seemed a bit ridiculous compared to the original ones (see last photo) but they grew on me as I painted. This is the first mini I painted primarily with my airbrush and I like the effect. I also tried weathering with pigments which were fine except on the feet where I overdid it; and I tried OSL for the first time, not entirely happy with it but seems okay overall.

'Nautical' from JeremyM - 'Viking Longship'

Hi all,

I have a 28mm scale Revell viking ship for my entry to the ship challenge.

I chose to make it into a beached ship to fit with a gaming matt I have that transitions from sea to land. The scale works well with 28mm as you can see with my jomsviking warlord on it and beside it.

The ship is plastic and a bit fiddly to assemble. I chose to forgo the plastic sale and made one from a dried out wipe that I rolled up, I probably should have painted some red strips or something for a better effect and I suppose I may still do that in the future. The ship bottom was made to fit in a special stand as it still has the keel. I cut that off with a saw on the very bottom so it would sit flat on the base. The shields on the side come with decals and were a reel pain. i should have cut out the centre boss before appllying but there were so many I decided against it, which made applying the decals a real pain. A small hole punch would be ideal for these.

For the base I built it up with some wood and gravel painted tan to reflect the beach. The waves and water part were painted blue and then I used silicon to make the water and the waves coming into shore. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out I think it will be a great objective on the table for a saga campaign I'm running. It actually made an appearance a few weeks ago but was unbased and only partially assembled. This version will be a tad more impressive in the near future.

'Comedic' from JeremyM - 'Bowling Lebowski'

For this theme round I decided to carry on with some of my Big Lebowski figures. Last year I painted 'the dude' complete with his carpet that 'really tied the room together' for the humour round.

This time I chose five characters I wanted to have milling around the bowling alley featured in the film. From left to right we have the cowboy narrator, the Valkyrie from the dude's dream sequence, 'the Jesus', Donnie, and Walter. I trimmed some coffee stick stirrers painted theme a shade of yellow and added a few lines.

I made sure to have Walter's foot 'over the line' as I thought that might be fitting. All the mini's are 28mm and are from impact miniatures. They also included a sprue of extras like a bowling ball, bowling ball bag, a coffee can (was tempted to add this to donnie's base, but I thought it was but a bit too much foreshadowing), and some suitcases.

The mini's will likely be used in a strange aeons scenario at some point, likely involving a cult of bowling ball worshippers or something equally silly. I have a few more that are nearing completion that I'll try and post in the near future as well to complete my Big Lebowski collection.

'Hot' from JeremyM - 'Fire Elementals'

Here is my hot submission some 28mm Reaper Bones fire elementals.

Most of these were transparent plastic so I tried to replicate that with transparent paints. It largely worked although it was a pain and I would recommend to probably just prime and paint normally as I'm not entirely convinced I prefer this over regular paint?

The little one is more 15mm, and the big guy closer to 40 or 50.
