'Water Feature' from IannickM: Kaynora Uldum, High Priestess of Hydana

As I mentioned in the last bonus round, in December 2017, I started a Fighting Fantasy RPG game with two of my best friends. We changed game and setting at the end of 2018.  So I decided to reward my players with a gift, as a thank you for their dedication and the seriousness with which they played for a year. So I painted a figure for each of them, one that represented as closely as possible their characters.

So today (a funny coincidence that both characters could be used in the bonus rounds!) we have Kaynora Uldum, commonly refered to as "Kay". Kaynora is a black elf, daughter of Ralyana Darrenim and Eranil Uldum, and spent her childhood on the roads of the "Old Allansia", as part of a merchant caravan. In the world of Fighting Fantasy, black elves and dark elves are separate races, and while the later are universally evil, the former are a race of nomad merchants, of mostly neutral alignement. Kaynora left her family in search of adventure after meeting Lexana O'Aria, the Kharé mercenary who would in time become her trusted companion. Chosen by Hydana, master of the oceans, during the exploration of a sunken temple, Kaynora devoted her life to the teachings of the God of the Seas and rose from apprentice to High Priestess.

One of the power I really enjoy in the Fighting Fantasy RPG is that priests may call upon their God to directly intervene in the affairs of mortals once in their career. Kaynora managed to survive an entire campaign without calling on that favour (and there were quite a few moment when she almost did), and used it in the final scene of our campaign, to smite a mighty black dragon in the battle between the forces of Salamonis (the good guys) and Balthus Abhoré's evil Chaos hordes. It was an epic moment, as the mighty old God rose from the oceans to spearhead and then engulf the dragon in a powerful tidal wave of destruction.

I easily found the figure to represent the High Priestess, from Dark Sword miniatures. Kaynora wielded a metallic blue trident given to her by Hydana, wearing a turquoise robe and an equally blue magic armour. The figure was just a perfect match, and she has that High Priestess prestance for sure!

So that's 5 pts for a 28mm character, and a candidate for Sarah's choice.

And here's a picture of the legendary mighty duo of Allansia, Emilie's Lexana O'Aria and Marie-Claude's Kaynora Uldum. Both figures now in the hands of my two players.

'Mercenary' from IannickM: Lexana O'Aria, Kharé Mercenary

In December 2017, I started a Fighting Fantasy RPG game with two of my best friends.

Neither Emilie nor Marie-Claude had ever played RPG's before. In fact, while videogame enthusiasts, both were alien to most of the geek world we know and love so well, from D&D to Warhammer, etc. So it was a bit of a gamble, and a learning curve (both in their 30s, so we're not teenagers anymore!).

And what do you know, both of them fell in love with the game and we've been playing RPG every two weeks ever since. They've become probably my most enthusiastic players, like, ever.

It was my first experience playing with an all women group, and I have to say it's a very interesting and rewarding experience. Women do not play the game the same way guys do, and that's a good thing! The campaign lasted for a whole year, with 24 sessions that saw their characters go from inexperienced adventurers to legends in the Allansia continent. In my case, an experienced GM, it was possibly my most rewarding campaign. Both Emilie and MC really plunged headfirst into the campaign; from entering the Citadel of Chaos to steal a magic book from the evil sorcerer Balthus Abhoré, to defeating Shareela, the famous Snow Witch and exploring the famed lost city of Vatos, it was an fantastic journey.

We changed game and setting at the end of 2018 after an epic finale (one of the first time of my GM life where I really got to close a campaign properly). So I decided to reward my players with a gift, as a thank you for their dedication and the seriousness with which they played for a year. So I painted a figure for each of them, one that represented as closely as possible their characters.

So today we have Lexana O'Aria, commonly referred to as "Baba" (long story). Lexana was raised as a child soldier in a mercenary camp in Kharé, the Cityport of traps, before escaping to Allansia. A no-nonsense mercenary fighter with very limited people's skills, a mean streak and trust issues, she grew up during the campaign to become much more.

While perusing websites for the figures I needed, I realized there's a lot more male figure than female, that's for sure, so it was a bit of a struggle to find exactly what I was looking for, but in the end I managed!

Lexana had acquired a bronze enchanted Corinthian style helmet in an abandoned Temple, was wearing heavy armour and had a large two handed magic sword. So those were a must. I found what I was looking for to represent Lexana O'Aria from Reaper's Bones range. I was my first time painting Bones, and while I'm still not a huge fan of the material it works well with solid one piece casting.

The figure looks appropriately epic on top of this fallen statue, and I'm happy with my choice. I'm never a big fan of all-armoured figures, as I find it's a bitch to highlight appropriately, but I'm satisfied with my work on her.

Emilie was really happy with this piece, and in the end that's the most important; a token to remember this great journey.

Before the end of the Challenge, I will also reveal Kaynora Uldum, the other character from my campaign. Stay tuned folks!

So that's 5 pts for a 28mm character, and I assume a candidate for Sarah's choice.

'Monstrous' from IannickM: Lord of Change

Lords of Change, more fully known as the Watching Lords of Change and also as the Eyes of Tzeentch and the Feathered Lords, are the Greater Daemons of Tzeentch. The most powerful servants of their master, Lords of Change are in many ways essentially minor embodiments of all the characteristics of Tzeentch, renowned for their long-running and intricate schemes that weave across time and fate. Lords of Change are notable for being allowed access to Tzeentch's very own reserves of wisdom and for essentially being expressions of his cunning, which gives them great power. As individuals, they are all said to possess the attitude of wicked children; playful but mischievous and even openly malicious towards the lesser beings they delight in manipulating. Nothing is more pleasing to a Lord of Change than to break open fate and re-shape it, fate and re-shape it, be it by manipulation of individuals or direct action. Even without access to Tzeentch's knowledge of fate, they are said to be deeply intelligent and understanding of life's mysteries.

While I haven't been able to submit many bonus round entries this year, mostly due to real life issues and work, there was *no way* I'd miss the Monstrous round! Fantasy is my thing, and, well, monsters are a big part of it. From Dragons to Hydras, they are everywhere. But obviously, with my love of all things Oldhammer, it is in the depth of 80s sculpts that I would pick my candidate. The first painted miniature that wowed me and made me want to not only paint miniatures, but also be good at it, was a Lord of Change on the cover of the "Citadel Painting Guide", a small booklet which Games Workshop sold, at the time, for a buck!

The Lord of Change, upper right
I just loved the vibrant tropical colours and the awesome look of this chaotic beast. So for the Monstrous challenge I decided to paint me one of those! I figured there would be a lot of dark stuff in this challenge, but I would go with a full blown display of colours! I find it a bit sad nowadays seeing people paint their Lord of Changes in mono colours of blue or purple, this is Tzeentch goddammit, the God of Change and mutations, and his servants should be as vibrant and colourful as possible!

At the time, Citadel made three bodies, with randomly available heads and tails. My favourite body was this one, and the two headed was also my favourite head. I waited for a while on Ebay until I found my perfect Lord of Change, and this guy's been in my collection for a few years now.

So I obviously went with a full tropical colour scheme, inspired by the classic paint jobs of the 80s. I especially like my ultra bright green and the pale blue of the wings. This guy took me a while to paint, what with all the textures and the many details. He was also a pain to hold while painting! But I'm really happy with him, and I believe my 10 year old self would be very happy with his look.

He's going to have a place of honour in my future Tzeentch and Slaanesh allied force I've been collecting and planning in the last few years (my current force is Nurgle, undivided and Khorne).

Hope you like him, cheers!

(10pts for the Lord of Change, a rather tall and big figure on the 50mm side of things, + the points for the bonus round).

'Flight' from IannickM: Green terror from above, AKA the terrifying Doom Diver!

It does not seem to bother them than their chances of survival are low, but then only the most crazed Goblins would want to be propelled in the air anyway. These Goblins are known as Doom Divers, although it is usually for other (saner) goblins to call them "Bat Wings Loonies". In the dirty, brutal and often painfully short life of a goblin the chance of swooping through the air and smashing right through their enemies is just too good to miss. The Doom Divers know that the ultimate excitement of diving through the air is at high speed is well worth the considerable risks. Though it is a sad way for a Goblin to go, it is infinitely more better than to die an ignoble death by the hands of a hungry Troll.

This bonus theme was an easy choice for me, as the Goblin army I'm currently working on features a pair of Doom Divers as the main War Machines.

A Doom Diver Catapult is basically an enlarged version of a giant slingshot, which propels a leather-wing Goblin known as a Doom Diver straight into an enemy formation as a form of live ammunition. Originally, the Doom Diver Catapult was created to allow nomadic tribes of Goblins to scout the surrounding areas of their territory in quick succession. After a while, the Doom Diver Catapult was redesigned for the use of war.

Doom Divers are quite enthusiastic about their duties, for there can be no greater joy for a Doom Diver than to fly across the sky for only mere moments before he hits his intended target.

Doom Divers are certainly one of the craziest thing Game Workshop has came up with! I mean, kamikaze Goblins launched with a catapult? Yes please!! That's what I love about Warhammer Goblins, so over the top in their stupidity it makes them absolutely endearing.

As I believe everyone knows by now my love is Oldhammer, especially the 1986-1992 era, and so obviously like the rest of my army the model I chose is from that era (1992 to be precise). GW has come with nice Doom Divers models since then, but none approaches the charm of the first Doom Diver model.

I put the model on a rectangular base and glued both pieces on the bases, instead of using the two square bases it came with. I usually like to create small diorama for my war machines, it just looks better. Obviously subtlety is not required here, so I went with bold yellow for the wings, and a red suit. These are also the main colours of my Goblin army, along with orange.

This is the second Doom Diver I paint for the army, and I inverted the colours from my previous one.

With two of them, I almost have a squadron of the little crazy kamikaze!

I can only claim points for one of them though, so that makes 15 pts (10 pts for the machine, another 5 for the goblin, 28mm).

And since this is my first post of 2018, Happy new Year to all!!!

'Characters/Scene from' IannickM: 'Hail to the King, Baby.'

Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my BOOMSTICK! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?

When I was maybe 11, I saw late at night a horror movie called Evil dead. It terrified me. So of course I watched Evil Dead II not long after and was also terrified, again. The "humour" in the movie escaped me, and the fact the main hero, Ash, spends a good half of the movie alone, tormented by evil demonic forces really made a number on me. But the worst part was the movie's ending, in which our hero gets propelled back in medieval times, not the happy ending you want for your horror movie.

Lady, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you to leave the store.
And who the hell are you?
Name's Ash. [cocks rifle]
Housewares.

Two years later, I saw a commercial for Army of Darkness, and I realized it was the sequel to Evil Dead! Finally I would knew what happened to Ash! As I was 13, and the movie was PG-13, I went to see it in the theater. I quickly realized that the sequel was much more lighthearted than the original, and while for a moment it disappointed me I rapidly fell for it's humour, and laughed for 90 minutes straight.

You found me beautiful once...
Honey, you got reeeal ugly!

To this day, Army of Darkness is one of the movies I've seen the most often, and I can recite most of the movie lines by heart. And they're so many classic quotes in that movie!

It's a trick. Get an axe.

I got this Hasslefree miniatures a while back, because obviously as a die hard fan of the serie I needed it, and obviously when I saw the last theme I knew what I had to do! At first I wanted to do a diorama, but after painting the figure the wargamer in me whispered to my ear "you'll want to play with him, are you sure a diorama is a good idea?" That combined with lack of time as I've been working really hard on that Pulp duel with Sander made me decide he would be enough. And who am I kidding? Of course, Ash is enough! He would tell you so himself!

I intend to use him in Pulp games, and also of course Zombicide! It's a great figure, and I'm really happy with my painting.

Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I *am* king.
Hail to the king, baby.

'West' from Iannick: Chicago Mobsters

So I had to improvise a little (a lot) for this entry! I had what I thought was a very good concept for the Challenge (the Wicked Witch of the West), but unfortunately the world's Posts and/or Canada customs conspired to ruin my plans! Indeed, the order I made specifically for this bonus theme round apparently got lost in the mail somewhere, and I was left with nothing! I actually waited until yesterday, hoping it might miraculously show up at the last minute but alas it was not meant to be. I woke up this morning a bit frustrated at the whole situation resigned that I would miss this bonus theme round. But then by mid-afternoon I shook myself up, and since I always join the bonus round (terrain excepted), I figured I had to come with something!

So I frantically went digging into my lead pile. Now, I remembered I had a lone Far West Cowboy figure left, but that didn't excite me, as it seemed an easy way out. I figure a few of the entries would be Far West and I wanted to do something different than a single Cowboy.

And then by pure luck I stumbled unto two Gangsters figures. They were the remnants of a pack of Copplestone Miniatures gangsters I bought many years ago to paint as a gift to Laurie (she's into everything 1930s, especially the cinema and Film Noir). And my brain started working a little and making associations...gangsters, mobsters, 1920s Chicago, Chicago the Midwest city, often referred as the Jewel of the Midwest...ha! Got it! I'm pretty sure no one does Midwest for this theme!

It was a bit of a hectic day after that; they needed to be cleaned, primed, based and painted by midnight.

And success!!

So my entry is Dean O'Banion and Bugs Moran, the famous leaders of the North Side Gang, the Chicago Irish Mobsters and main rivals of Al Capone's Italian Chicago outfit, who fought in the 1920s and 1930s in what is now known as “The Bootleg Battle of the Marne.” The high and bloody point of that war being the famous 1929 Saint Valentine's Day Massacre.

Dean O'Banion and Bugs Moran

I went with classic Mobsters suits colours of Navy blue and "shiny" grey, and really I'm just happy I managed to not only finish them but making them look decent with very limited time. I won't win this challenge but I'm really proud I managed to sneak in this entry! They will be added to Laurie's Gangsters collection as I really have no gaming use for them.

'East' from IannickM: Rhino Miyamoto, Samurai of the Cinnamon Clan

Every year, I find a way to paint one of Dark Sword's amazing Anthropomorphic Animals, usually in a Bonus Round challenge. It started with Sir Kermit the Frog Paladin many moons ago for the "Hero" bonus round, then a Frog Jester for the "Comedy" round, a Frog Prince and Princess for last year's "Amour" theme (which won the round) and Kitty Bonny, Cat pirate! As someone who's attached to traditions, I obviously couldn't let this year challenge go by without a nice Anthropomorphic Animal...So I made my choice pretty quickly for this bonus round. It was especially easy as the figure I was thinking of using was a free figure sent by Dark Sword as part of an order (Yes, they usually give you a random figure, another reason to love the small outfit). The only difficult part was finding him in my lead pile, as it had been stored during last year's house move!

So no frog this year, as we go into the house pet category, with the exotic and oh so vicious North American Guinea Pig! So I present to you Rhino Miyamoto, Samurai of the Cinnamon Clan.

I must say the armour was a bit of pain to paint, but in the end it's well worth it. I'm especially happy the black came out well, even in photography.

The black armour was painted black and then delicately and lightly drybrushed with grey; I wanted to pick the details but still wanted it to look very black and not grey. The yellow is my traditionnal Ochre/yellow recipe, and the yellow details on the armour were picked up manually (that was the painful part).

I had to google to find out what Guinea Pigs eyes looks like, and I think I've a good job replicating their big black shiny eyes.

And there you have it, one more critter in the display cabinet! These guys are Laurie's favourites so they have a place of honour in the living room cabinet!

And as for his name, well his last name is pretty obvious I'd think, but his first name is a wink to the most famous guinea pig of them, and a favourite of mine...

'Armour' from IannickM: Emperor's Children Armoured Division (Epic)

Children of the Emperor! Death to his foes!

Last year I watched Greg start an Epic 30K project during the Challenge. I spent the whole tournament drooling over his stuff and by the end of the three months the itch had become a full blown scratch and in between flashes of 1991 Nostalgia I knew I had to start a project of my own. Those interested can read a lot more about it on my blog (http://maraudersandcitadels.blogspot.ca/). We even made a 30K challenge of it in this year's duel. So this is both my first Epic/30K entry and a bonus theme round entry.

When I saw the list of bonus themes, I immediately noticed "Armour" and knew what to do! This was lucky for me as I usually don't paint vehicles of any sort. After asking Curt to allow 6mm for this bonus round, which he graciously did (y'all welcomed, fellow 6mm lovers), I figured I would enter a pair of Epic Super Heavy Tanks (Fellblades). So I painted the two tanks, and being in a groove I also painted some Infantry, and then Rhinos, and before I knew it I was looking at the possibility of entering a complete, albeit small, detachment into the Bonus round! And why not!

So my entry has thus become my first Armoured Division (combined arms) for the Horus Heresy, aka 30K. I'm starting this project with the forces of changes and hope, with a division of Emperor's Children (as a lad in the 80s when I first played Epic I was always a fan of benevolent Warmaster Horus, while my younger goodie two-shoes brother was a loyal follower of the Emperor). The Emperor's Children, the IIIrd Legion of the Imperium, was always one of my favourite "traitor" legion. Mostly, I'll admit, because I find the purple & gold colour scheme looks really good on the battlefield, especially in the smaller scale. Their name, also, has always been a favourite of mine.
Of course, I could also mention the Legion's "joie de vivre", so refreshing in the dark and grim world of the 30th millenium! Of course, the cheap propaganda of the Emperor has repeatedly referred to the Legion as being made-up of hedonistic psychopaths!

The Legion has a bit of a perfectionist complex and strives for perfection in all their endeavours and continuously works to perfect their military operations. Sustained not merely by the example of their peers but by a deep individual belief in their duty to their superiors and the Legion as a whole, they fought to the best of their abilities in all conditions, whether the battle was a massive attack or a simple patrol. Favouring a quick-strike and agressive approach to combat, I intend to give them more speed as the force grows.

So for this first painted Division, we have :

Space Marines clad in Mark III armours. The rules for Epic 30K requires rather big infantry formations, but it does look good. In the middle of the formation you can see a stand of sergeants with their white crests.

Rhino Armoured Personnel Carrier to transport the lads into combat. These are the classic, old school plastic Rhinos which came in the Space Marines box set of the late eighties. They aged remarkably well.

Land Raiders, famous and reliable heavy tank and transport vehicle. Also the original plastic models of my youth. The model has also aged beautifully. The nostalgia feeling was high while painting these (or one might say I was high on nostalgia while painting these).

Then a talon of Deredeo Dreadnoughts, my favourite dreadnoughts. They look really cool and remind me of some of the Robotech mech of my youth. I must say I gave these guys a bit of extra love and I think it paid off, as I really like how they came out!

And finally, the big boys! Legion Fellblades, Super Heavy main battle tanks equipped with compact Mechanicum Atomantic Arc-reactor technology (if you don't know what this is borrow a book at Terra's Imperium library for god's sake!), a reinforced metaplas alloy chassis which provides protection superior to that of nearly all other Imperial armoured vehicles, and a (very visible) advanced Accelerator Cannon as its primary armament. Not to be fucked with.

These are massive models measuring 45mm(!) in length and I spent a substantial amount of time working on them. I love their looks, and the additions of the legion symbols on the side doors makes for a welcome addition for someone like me who's freehand deficient!

And finally, the mandatory picture of 6mm figures next to a Canadian penny! always wanted to do that! For you see, this force is my first time painting 6mm, in fact it's my first time painting another scale than 25/28mm! (And I've been painting for over 20 years, crazy I know!) Bit of a leaning curve especially the first batch of infantry but I got the hang of it quickly and I really enjoy painting the little scale. I might be hooked on Epic for a long time. I'm also really happy I got myself an optivisor this summer, so useful especially at this scale!

Special shout-out to Greg for the base sizes; he did all the work figuring it out and I just copied it!

So, to recap :

40 infantry x 0.5 : 20 pts
8 vehicles : 16 pts
2 Super Heavy tanks (Curt, I believe these monsters are worth 5 or 6 pts?) : 10 or 12 pts
6 "guns" (dreadnoughts) : 6 pts

So a total of 54 (52?) pts to add to my total, and my first foray into the 30K duel! Horus for Hope!

'L'amour' from IannickM - 'The Princess and the Frog'

For this bonus theme, I went pretty literal, and painted a romantic scene of a frog prince courting a frog princess. Your classic love story, really. A frog cupid, sending his love arrows into the prince's heart, was added to the scene, to tie the whole thing with today's holiday.

The figures are from Dark Sword's Anthropomorphic Animals range, and painting a frog during the challenge has become an annual tradition for yours truly! You may remember two years ago I painted a frog knight "Sir Kermit", and last year I went with a frog jester. This year I went big with three frogs!

Painting this range is always a lot of fun, as I can let my imagination run wild and just go with lots of colours. I'm also getting good at painting the critters and really happy with this lot. I'm especially proud as they were painted using a GW brush! In a moment of sheer clumsiness I ruined my precious Rosemary and Co. brushes by spilling army painter varnish on them, and so had to buy the only available brushes in Montreal. They are worse than I remember!

I'm going all in into this theme, as this entry is also my Valentine's day gift to Laurie, my girlfriend and mon amour. The Dark Sword's frogs have always been a favourite of Laurie (yes for some weird reason she prefers them to Chaos Champions and Napoleonic soldiers) so I spent the last two weeks working on them in secret. I believe she's going to be really happy with her gift!

'Nostalgia' from IannickM - Oldhammer, Three Champions of Chaos

Apparently some people struggled finding a submission for this bonus theme. I was not one of them! After all, I've been painting an Oldhammer Chaos army for over a year now and I just love the Oldhammer concept and community. And, well, the whole thing is about nostalgia, really! So I could've just take any figure I guess and it would've met the criteria. But that would've been too easy. I really wanted to channel my 11 year old geeky self for this entry.

While my entryway into the whole hobby was gamebooks and then RPG's, I can pinpoint the exact moment I got interested into wargaming, and that is when I received the book Realm of Chaos: The Lost and the Damned. From that point on I spent way too many hours eyeing the beautiful painting inside, and dreaming of purchases while browsing White Dwarfs and Citadel catalogues. But those miniatures were expensive, and I was not really good at painting them either (that is when I could get my hands on them). For me, Oldhammer is about fulfilling those dreams, i.e. buying the figures I could not have as a child and then giving them the proper paintjob I dreamed of.

So for this bonus round I picked three Chaos champions, three iconic figures that are some of my very favourite sculpts of today and yesterday.

Doras Varn, Champion of Slaanesh (God of lust, pleasure, desire, and excess)

Burgold Festus, Champion of Nurgle (God of plague, despair, disease and death)

Valent Uuthizar, Champion of Tzeentch (God of change, fate, hope, and knowledge)

Two of them I've had since my childhood and one I bought a year or so ago. I've been avoiding painting them as I must admit there was still the fear of not painting them to the standard I want. But this bonus round gave me the incentive I needed, and so here they are, painted in all their nostalgic beauty (well to be honest they still are fantastic sculpts even by today's standard). I hope they'll trigger the same nostalgia feelings in some of you.

'Antihero' from IannickM - 'Elric of Melnibone'

"It is the colour of a bleached skull, his flesh; and the long hair which flows below his shoulders is milk-white. From the tapering, beautiful head stare two slanting eyes, crimson and moody, and from the sleeves of his gown emerge two slender hands, also the colour of bones."

My choice for antihero was an easy one; I would pick *the* antihero of fantasy literature, the White Wolf himself, Elric of Melniboné. For many gamers, the fantasy bug came courtesy of J.R.R. Tolkien's Bilbot or Lord of the Ring. But for me, the love of the genre started after reading Michael Moorcock's Elric Saga. To this day the six first original books are probably the novels I have read the most often in my life, and I still pick them up once in a blue moon.

The story of Elric, last emperor of Melniboné, is one of life and death, fate versus free will, evil vs good and of course Law versus Chaos. Bound to Stormbringer, a weapon he loathes but needs, Elric tries to bring morality to a life which should be devoid of the mere notion. Plagued by his destiny, the things he tries to control have quite often been decided by higher powers. A tragic figure, but a fascinating character. A true antihero.

The figure I chose, Elric the White Wolf, is a very old figure from Citadel, released in the mid-eighties to be used with the "Stormbringer" roleplaying game. It is a very rare figure and often fetches 20$ or more on Ebay. Of all the figures I gave to Curt for this challenge, it is the one I'm most attached to, but I know it will have a good home and Curt definitely deserves it! Take good care of it Curt, it is a bit like saying goodbye to a very old friend!

I shall end this post and this year bonus round themes with my favourite last line of any novel, the last line of "Stormbringer" :

"Farewell, my friend. I was a thousand times more evil than thou!".

'Comedic' from IannickM - 'Frog Jester'

Of all the bonus themes rounds I can remember, this one was the one I had the most difficulty coming up with a good idea. Comedic? Really, I had nothing in my big pile of lead which seemed to fit that bill. So, again, I turned to my favourite provider of weird and original miniatures, Dark Sword Miniatures. And again the small outfit delivered when after some search on their website I found a great little piece; a Jester! And what is more Comedic than a jester? Well how about a frog jester!

So I went crazy on this little fellow, trying to cram as many colours as I could on him. Hey, a Jester is supposed to be tacky and colourful! It made for a nice little distraction.

So I used pink, 2 types of purple, turquoise, yellow, pale blue and red! And I'm quite happy with the look of this fellow.
