'Characters/Scene from' AlexS: Astérix et Obélix

Even last year, I stole from my children two miniatures of the eggs with a surprise. But then I have not found the time to paint, and they were almost a year on my shelf. But now they were just unnecessary. I present to you Asterix and Obelix - the pride and glory of Gaul!

And yet - the overall picture of all the miniatures, which took part in the bonus topics. I thank Curt for his bonus themes - they awakened my association and given a chance to think.

'West' from AlexS: Jester

Each theme is offered Curt a certain intellectual and associative challenge. When I thought about picking up and the miniature for the theme of "the West", then I went through a lot of options. In the end I settled on a miniature a jester.

Why? Because for me, "West" - is Europe, European culture and literature, and in particular, the idea of a medieval carnival and a book that embodies the culture of fun and mixing the high and low - "Gargantua and Pantagruel". So I decided to use the classic the miniature a jester, to show respect to the Western carnival culture. I decided to use some non-standard color scheme, working only with the color red, to bring to the next the miniature image that I associate with Western cultural - Mephistopheles.

'Home' from AlexS: Our Last Home

I had difficulty with this round. I could not think of a good idea. I tried to make a fortress, but I did not like this idea. I tried to make a tent - it's a soldier's house - but this option disappointed me.

Then I made a yurt - nomad's home. But I did not like and I did not even want to paint it.

And in the end I did it. Maybe someone my post seems a little depressed. But no. We may have many apartments, a lot of houses, but the last home is likely to be that way ...

'East' from AlexS: Russian Bogatyr

In the Russian language and culture of the East consistently associated with Asia, while the West is associated with Europe. The problem is that my country is both in Asia and in Europe. Ekaterinburg City, where I live, is located in Asia, and a summer house in the village, which is already located in Europe.

Almost all of its history, my country has to choose which way to civilization closer to her - European or Asian. And in the end I chose something in between. In the words of one of our philosopher: "Appearance we have a European and actions - Asia". And provided you a miniature meets this duality. Its author - sculptor of the Czech Republic (European country with Slavic population). It depicts a dwarf (a typical representative of European mythology) in the image of Russian BOGATYR (hero), which is characterized by parts of the armor and clothes of Asian origin.

That's the way I decided to translate the theme proposed by by Curt. I hope that my association and my job will seem interesting.

'Armour' from AlexS: Armour of God

When I thought about the proposed theme of by Curt, I realized that I was not able to paint so well in tanks or armored knights in armor. And I remembered the phrase from the Bible: "Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand aganist the wiles of the devil". Especially because I had two beautiful miniatures, which enable precisely this interpretation of the proposed topics. Their author - sculptor, painter player and a good person Veniamin Mikov, the owner of the company, "Our dear friend Venichka LTD" I got a lot of fun while working with these miniatures, and I think you get a lot of fun looking at them.

'Risk Taker' from AlexS - 'Cards, Dice, Chess and a Smoking Gun'

He began work on this figure in the day when the event started. The idea was a bit banal, but I was afraid that because of cultural differences and of my poor English, I will not give you what you expect to see in this theme. But I decided to risk it, and why it does not do it here?

Now, the miniature, which I call
"Cards, dice, chess and a smoking gun."

'Defensive Terrain' from AlexS - 'Pigsty'

I thought a lot on this subject, and decided it would be interesting to do something unexpected for me. I decided to make a detachment of pigs who heroically defend their pigsty from enemies. Pink, cute pig headed Pig bravely rush to the defense of his home. They jump over the fence and go on the attack! Oink-oink! We are going!

'Nostalgia' from AlexS - Oldhammer Orks

For me, playing with miniatures began, like many, I think, with Warhammer, or rather, a game of Computer (Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat).

It was then, for more than ten years ago I started collecting, painting miniatures and play them. And all these years in my closet were orcs old wording, which I was in no mood or the ability to paint.

Now, when Warhammer is already gone, I could leave them lying there, but now I have a good excuse to paint them and remember the days when everything was different: the trees were big, the girls were beautiful, and the prices were small.
