'Resistance' by NickY: Resist Poison and Insatiable Hunger

Here my fellow Druchii are 5 cold one riders hailing from the city of executioners, Har Ganeth. Fed on rich crustacean flesh full of carotenoids from the deeps waters of the Seas of Malice and Chill, these fearsome and beautiful reptilians have acquired a pink hue that most pleases the tastes of the Hag Queen.

5 x 28mm mounted @ 10 points = 50

Resistance theme = 20 points

Total = 70 points

One of my favorite Warhammer Fantasy characters, and indeed novel series, was Malus Darkblade. And while I loved and hated Malus in equal measure, I had nothing but love for his cold one mount, Spite. Part lizard, part canine, all heart, teeth and claw, this loyal companion was the highlight of whichever page he appeared on. If you haven't read the series, I won't spoil it for you, but perhaps you'll end up dreaming of riding your own cold one, too.

There is a catch, however.

These reptilian beasts from the caves of Hag Graef exude a poisonous and quite toxic slime from their skin. You'll need a strong will to tame the beast, and you'll need to grit your filed teeth tightly and resist the poison as it slowly steals all the sensation from your skin. So, too, must you resist the beast's urge to hunt and devour prey, lest its frenzy for flesh carries you right into the heart of the enemy line, alone and exposed.

So resist. Resist poison and the will of your mount and become a knight of Naggaroth - the most feared and dangerous warriors under the Witch King's command.

'Empire' From NickY: 28mm Dark Elf Black Ark Corsair Captain and Her Slave to Darkness (60 points)

 Raging Heroes Dark Elves and TCWminiatures 3D slave

2 x 28mm foot @ 5 points = 10 points

Empire theme = 50 points

Total = 60 points

For a year they have waited, longing, bickering, and no doubt tormenting one another in the stuffy darkness of a box on my shelf, yet they were never forgotten.

The Dark Elf empire endures. They endured the great betrayal of their weak and treacherous kin, so a year of waiting is naught but a single tiny barnacle upon a ship's bottom. Warhammer Fantasy Battles suffered its own great betrayal, but she still beats on in my heart, a pulse as cold and fierce as the winds of Naggaroth. Now, released once more into the dim light that pushes its way past the looming crags, this Black Ark Corsair Captain stands resplendent with a bound slave kneeling at her feet like an offering to her boundless ambition.

I guess the skull is a reminder of what happens to those that disappoint her...

After all, empires are built on the backs of the broken, and none embrace this truth more fervently than the Druchii. If slaves are the lifeblood that fuels Naggaroth's decadence, might, and terrible majesty, then captains such as she are its beating heart, reavers of distant coasts, harvesters of flesh and takers of wealth. Soon her veteran corsairs will rally to her banner, and together they shall slip across the Sea of Chill and into the Great Ocean and beyond, hunting for a worthy horde of flesh and riches. And perhaps, before their raiding is done, this captain may yet steal another prize, my own heart.
