'Toy Story' from PaulSS - From Hot Wheels Max Steel to Gaslands Fusty Rucker

I think I was always going to do a Hot Wheels for this round, but I was tootling away painting more stuff for the Barons' War when I got a reminder at 1630 on 6th Feb that submissions for the bonus round need to be in tomorrow.

I've got a pile of Hot Wheels still in their blister packs - I'm constantly picking up something interesting when I see it - so I grabbed this Max Steel and my stash of bits and set to with the super glue and accelerator.

The ram, scoop and wheel spikes are all 3D prints while the driver is a wasteland warrior from North Star in a groovy Soviet era style gas mask, he'll need it with no windshield!

The whole thing was given a blast of Khaki primer and after allowing a probably less than reasonable time to dry was base-coated in several rusty browns and then given a wash of Strong Tone. Once that was dry I built up the rust layers adding final blooms of orange and bare metal and painted the driver in a mix of military greens. The exhausts and fuel tank were given extra rust treatment with some Dirty Down and then set about with Tamiya Weathering Powders before a blast of Matt Varnish and photos.

This rust bucket just made it over the line!

A 20mm vehicle and a 20mm driver plus the theme bonus points should add 69pts to my total.
