A bit of a rushed entry for this theme round, as I thought I had another week!
I've gone for the closest thing I could get to a musical weapons system in use by the Germans in Normandy - the 15cm NW41 Rocket launchers (Nebelwerfers). Actually a weapon developed in the 1930's, the Nebelwerfer used rockets to deliver it's payload. All 6 rockets could be fired in a very short period of time, and would all land within the target area very quickly. The only warning would be the scream of the incoming rockets - hence the allies called these weapons 'Moaning Minnies' or 'Screaming Mimi'.
This battery of three launchers actually goes towards making up a full battery of 6, with the others having been painted a while ago. The launchers make up a battery of a regiment of 7. Werfer Brigade, who supported 89. Infanterie-division and 12th SS Panzer Division during the Totalize battle.
These are 15mm scale models for Battlefront (GE590).
A total of 3 Launchers and 15 crew for 42 points in total.
enough noise to put AC/DC to shame, great as always
ReplyDeleteThanks Martin, though looking at them today the basing isn't up to my normal standard so I'll be re-doing it. I tried to take some shortcuts as I was short on time and they have not worked.
