'Flight' from Barks: An Unkindness of Ravens

Dark wings, dark words.
They look great en masse.
These ravens are from Zombicide: A Murder of Crowz, but I thought they'd be great for Game of Thrones, or flocks of crebain for Lord of the Rings, or fatigue markers for SAGA etc. Dark grey undercoat, blue-grey drybrush, black wash, and black details. I based them to match Challenge VII's revenants, but I got the PVA to bicarb ratio off so the snow is a little thin and translucent.

I've had my eyes on these ravens for a little while- the Bonus Round was just what I needed to persuade me to get them.

  1. Lovely work Barks. I SO need to pick up this boxed set as it can be used for so many systems/scenarios.

  5. Wonderful stuff Barks. Many, many uses for these - I can see using them as dummy markers to mark potential enemy units in any winter based game.

    1. Thanks, Jamie! I rarely use pure black, often it is dark grey with a black wash and often tones of blue.

  8. Wow, Barks...that's a scary flight of crows. In the woods near us, there are hundreds of crows, jackdaws and magpies. When they swarm - yep - looks just like this. Terrific work - I really like them!

  9. Dark words dark deeds indeed! These are a useful item for tokens and encounters in many a setting! I don't have any dark words for me though. Nice work on getting the black hue and keeping the detail! I too go through grey and blue paint far faster than the black pot! ;)
