'Sport' from EvanH: The Durinhold Tectonics

Wow. Deadlines, huh?

They just creep up on you. Well, not only was I crept up on, I was mugged.

What was to have been a full 12-player Blood Bowl team has been pared back to take part in the less prestigious Seven-A-Side Competition. Still, it fits the theme, and Gary Morley's sculpts from way back in 1994 are excellent, with their terrific detail and characterful attitudes.

This is a bit of a mixed blessing, as there's so much you can miss when painting them - the rest of the team is close to completion, but will have to wait a week or so.

I went for a simple red and yellow colour scheme, not for any particular reason other than it's bright and stands out on the tabletop.

Here are the two Blockers;

The two Runners;

Two Slayers (these guys play for keeps);

And I'll be honest, the tattoos aren't easy when you've only had 5 hours sleep!

And here's the Blitzer (I honestly have no idea what a Blitzer does in the game. Blitz, presumably).

So while it's not as significant a submission as I would have hoped, at least I've got some more Dwarves into the mix, and that's the most important thing, isn't it? Painting Dwarves has become something of a Challenge tradition for me, as has tormenting Goblins (and maybe we'll see some of those little green devils further down the track...)

That's all for this round - stay tuned!

Ev

  9. Some venerable classics, Ev. Perhaps not so great with the sprints, but the low center mass will make these guys particularly brutal on the field.

    1. Thanks Byron, it wouldn't be an Ev Challenge without at least one dwarf entry!

  13. Great looking team, though you seem to be a little 'short' of players. Sorry.
