Vindicator close support tank for the World Eaters |
For this first theme round I wanted to maintain my focus on 30k. I figured my World Eater forces, which at this point consist only of infantry, could use a vehicle to assist in their various community outreach efforts. This is a Vindicator, a close-support tank for the Space Marine forces.
Some WIP...so much white paint... |
More WIP - the paint chipping stage... |
Built on the to the carriage of the Rhino APC, the Vindicator has slabs of extra armour and very heavy, short-range cannon. The vehicle supports action against enemy fortifications and fighting in built-up areas, types of fighting the 12th Legion would often find themselves embroiled in. I figured it would be a fitting first vehicle for the World Eaters.
Be ready for some hope... |
Ready to blast loyalists, and their structures, out of the way |
I'm sure that emission system takes everything that was learned from VW when it comes to meeting control standards... |
While Forge World makes a very nice "30k version" of this vehicle, I actually find the standard plastic "40k version" to be really sharp. In particular I love the the big shovel on the front of the vehicle, it gives a combat-engineering vibe to the model.
Ready for action at a community centre near you! |
The model kits have great options for the commander, so I went with the option to have the commander peaking out of the cupola, and used a spare Mark IV helmet so he would match the other troops.
Nice work Greg :)
ReplyDeleteNot much going to stop that tank! Great chipping effects. A very nice model.
ReplyDeleteVery nice tank Greg! Funny how we both chose white tanks, and from images at least it looks like we came out with similar effects.
ReplyDeleteFabulous Vindicator, Greg! As I mentioned in Byron's post, white armour can be such a biatch to do well, but you've done a fabulous job with this lump of heresy. The 'World Eaters' on the front blade just kills me - 'This gory death brought to you by The World Eaters, 'Eating a World Near You'. ;)
ReplyDeleteReally nice work Greg.
ReplyDeleteGreat chipping!
ReplyDeleteGreat weathering and nice use of the decals. It looks like what you'd expect from the World Eaters!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! White is a real pain to get right but your weathering sets it up a treat.
ReplyDeletegreat stuff!
ReplyDeleteThe chips really do bring this alive!
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like it should pack a punch.
ReplyDeleteTotally dig this. Weathering looks great. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteGreg beast Greg! What is it with Mammoth White Tanks from Winterpeg this week?
ReplyDeleteAwesome painting Greg! You've really nailed how such a thing should look imho.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! A little too much white and too little blue for me (Ultramarines all the way!)... but great model.
ReplyDeleteBrave doing a whole white vehicle but the effect is great
ReplyDeleteShe looks finely grubby, Greg! Very nice wear on it, I think the world eaters spend the most time doing maintenance on the cutlery!;)
